The Belgian ICT consultant is homebody

The Belgian IT consultant is more faithful.
He stays much longer with his current employer than its European colleagues, said Coleman Parkes in a study (825 consultants interviewed in Europe) on behalf of Avanade.
The Belgian consultant works average 9.9 years of service with the same employer, while the European average lies at 7.4 years. Our northern neighbors ,for their part,areless faithful: Dutchman remains on average 5.3 years with the same organization.

In 2010 we will be short of 70 000 ITers

If the economical climat is favorable and according to estimations of the CEPIS (Council of European Professional Informatics Societies), European companies will need 250.000 ITers within two years
whereas only 180 000 specialists will be available.

Worse even! Between now and 2015 the annual need of IT professionals will raise up to 129 000 when the offer is in free fall and will only have 51.000 available specialists.

No doubt anymore about Open Source: it has imposed itself !

The Open Source is from now on in the middle of any information system. Better, it becomes the backbone of the pre-owned softwares, claims Forrester Research. 72% of the questioned companies are conscious that the pre-owned software publishers integrate more and more Open Source bricks in their commercial products - in some cases, this is the reason why it enters the company. If 39% of the companies already combine open and pre-owned softwares, 32% finally prefer a purely Open Source environment.
