SaaS?

Let's talk safety first!
Data security and protection of personal data are first mentioned by executives interviewed on applications in SaaS (Software as a Service) ... just before the capabilities of integration with existing enterprise applications and adaptation to customer needs.
Saugatuck, behind the study "Data Security Breaches Belie Concerns Regarding On-Premise vs. SaaS and Cloud " is surprised. Why this priority when, untill today, no major incident occured? On the contrary, 60% of the incidents of security-related applications installed on enterprise servers, are caused by errors of internal teams.
"As providers of SaaS applications have not reported any major problem, their systems are still perceived as not providing a good level of security." says Bruce Gupthill who stands behind the study.
According to Saugatuck, SaaS solution providers have developed security systems that go far beyond the ones that the companies usually establish for themselves. Furthermore, security has been incorporated at the design of systems they put in place rather then developed on existing systems.
That is why the author of the report concludes that "Security is a real advantage that Saas providers should highlight".
